Minnesota winters
Lyle and Karyl Engbarth found the company selling and repairing heaters in Minnesota — a place where heating isn't a comfort, it's survival. The standard gets set early: answer the phone, show up, tell the truth.
1981
The move to the Valley
The family brings the business to Arizona, trading blizzards for haboobs. Since 1981, LJ Refrigeration has been the trusted name in heating and air conditioning across the Northeast Valley.
2nd Gen
Growing the name
Jeff Engbarth, the founders' son, expands the company — same values, more vans — as Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and the desert towns north of the 101 grow around it.
Today
The third generation
Owners Paul and Jennifer Coen carry the family standard into its seventh decade: same-day service, no upselling, and workmanship signed with the family name.
